Mel Butler

Therapist at Inclusive Psychological Services

Mel Butler is a therapist at Inclusive Psychological Services, a practice rooted in the belief that mental health care should be accessible, affirming, and inclusive of all identities. The team at Inclusive Psychological Services is dedicated to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed support to individuals, couples, and families. Whether navigating anxiety, grief, identity exploration, or major life transitions, they create safe, supportive spaces where healing and personal growth can flourish.

Mel brings over 12 years of experience in the mental health field and a deep commitment to radical mental health and disability justice. She provides compassionate, culturally attuned care to adults, teens, couples, and families — particularly those whose lives are shaped by complex intersections of identity and systemic oppression.

Her approach is grounded in collaboration and trust. Mel prioritizes a non-hierarchical therapeutic relationship where assumptions are set aside, and each client’s autonomy, authenticity, and lived experience are honored. With warmth and intention, she works to help clients not only heal, but reconnect with their power, voice, and truth.

About Me

As a neurodivergent non-binary therapist, I don’t believe in a default ‘normal’ experience (or person)! In our work together, I prioritize creating a non-hierarchical, collaborative therapeutic relationship where I set aside assumptions and help you center your autonomy and authenticity in all aspects of your life. I bring 12 years of experience in the mental health field and a strong commitment to radical mental health work and disability justice to support you in this process of exploring how to create your own meaning in your life.

I specialize in working with clients navigating complex identities and transitions, particularly queer, trans, and neurodivergent individuals. I focus on careworkers facing burnout and teens with trauma, as well as non-monogamous people exploring difficult relationship dynamics.
